Known as the Full Worm Moon, this powerful moon will reach peak illumination in the early hours of Friday, specifically at 3:20 am EST. You can begin to tap into its power on Thursday night as it waxes in the sky. The name Worm Moon comes from the idea of earthworms and larvae emerging in the spring soil, and acting as sustenance for songbirds.
The Pisces sun opposes the Virgo moon, so in this full moon in Virgo, we’re given the chance to take a deep look at the emotional energy dedicated to our work, our health, and our daily routines and habits. This feels even more potent as the world starts to come alive again and mask mandates are lifted. Many of us had to lead drastically different lives for the last two years; because of this, we might have developed new habits during this time period that may or may not be serving us well. It’s time for us to take a hard look at our daily routines and observe what’s helping or hindering us from our goals.
With this full moon arriving two days before the vernal equinox, the timing is perfect to focus on that equilibrium. Equinox means "equal night," and with the Sun on the equator, every time zone around the globe is receiving the same fair share of light. This unifying vibe fits perfectly with modest, caring Virgo, the benevolent sign that Mother Teresa was born under.
The Virgo moon helps to illuminate our anxieties, habits, worries, and fears, while the Pisces sun helps us to clearly see our dreams, providing the perfect opportunity for us to create more balance in our lives. This energy is made more potent by Pluto throwing it’s support, as the moon moves closer to Pluto in the sky. Pluto will help you stand in your power, asserting boundaries and kicking habits that are not supporting you.
HOW TO USE THIS VIRGO FULL MOON TO YOUR ADVANTAGE:
1: CREATE YOUR UNIQUE BALANCE!
Use this grounding Virgo energy and dreamy Pisces energy to balance your reality
Key questions to ask yourself under this full moon in Virgo are: How can you honor your progress and release habits and plans that no longer serve you? How can you contribute to the world and follow your sense of purpose? Are you applying an appropriate amount of pressure on yourself and those around? How can you adjust your daily routines to accommodate the changes in the world while still honoring your own needs?
2. SPRING CLEANING!
One thing about Virgos is that we are clean machines! Especially before the true Nu year on Monday (3/21)), it is TIME to officially go through the closet and boxes that you have had pent up for a while and clear what you don't need and be intentional with what you keep! Since Virgo is an earth sign, now's the time to incorporate more plant life into your décor scheme—which can have the bonus effect of banishing some of those winter blues. How about an air-purifying ZZ plant or a pachira aquatica, aka a "money tree," for attracting green in more ways than one?
3. BREAK THE CYCLE OF PROCRASTINATION!
Procrastination is the enemy of progress! Yet, there's always a valid emotional experience going on underneath it all. Virgo's analytical powers can help you pierce the veil. Write down anything in your life you've been putting off. (A true virgo loves a list.) What's really stopping you? Maybe your heart isn't in it, and you need to save the project for another time. Or maybe you simply don't know where to start. Try to identify the first steps, like mapping out a budget—and figuring out where to find the funds—or reading over some paperwork.
4. EXPAND YOUR VOCABULARY AND DIVE INTO READING!
This lunar spell stimulates our intellectual curiosity. There's no better week to research, gather data and visual inspiration, and get a jump-start on your income taxes. Plus, brainiac Virgo flexes some serious vocab skills. Why say "good" when you can say "superlative," "unrivaled," or "optimum"? The 2022 Virgo full moon blesses us all with mental acuity, so take the challenge and wax poetic. Adopt a new word per day and use it as often as you can!
